Much of the graveyard was lost when a school was built on it in 1961. The Swale - Alefounder tomb was presumably in that part of the graveyard, which was off the right hand side of this photograph. The Rev. Francis Haslewood recorded these inscriptions on "A Square Tomb within iron palisades" in 1884:

North side:

WILLIAM SWALE
died 8th June 1786,
aged 32 years.

MARTHA SWALE
his relict
died 26th February 1836
aged 83 years.

West side:

MARTHA MARIA ALEFOUNDER
daughter of
WILLIAM SWALE
and MARTHA his wife
died 28th January 1817,
aged 36 years.

ROBERT ALEFOUNDER
her husband
died 29th July 1840,
aged 69 years.

South side:

ROBERT PADGET
eldest son of
R.S. ALEFOUNDER.
born 20th of May 1848,
died 12th of May 1856.

ROBERT SWALE
ALEFOUNDER,
died 16th December 1864,
aged 65 years.

East side:

MARY, daughter of ROBERT and
MARTHA MARIA ALEFOUNDER
and wife of
CHARLES RAYLEY
Commander in the R.N.
died 16th of December 1846,
aged 44 years.
