A farmer of Burnham. An advertisement appeared on 15th December 1786, in the Chelmsford Chronicle, page 3:
ESSEX To be Sold by PRIVATE CONTRACT. A COPYHOLD FARM called ROMANS; consisting of a farm-house, barn, stable, and other convenient buildings, in good repair; together with THIRTY-TWO Acres, or thereabouts, of rich arable and pasture Land, to the same belonging, situate and being in the parish of BURNHAM in Essex, now in the occupation of Daniel Alefounder, at the yearly rent of 27£ The above estate is holden of Lady Mildmay's manor of BURNHAM with MANGAPP, subject to an anuual quit-rent; fine on admission at the will of the lady.
Mr. Alefounder, the tenant, will shew the premises.
