In the Name of God Amen I John Alefounder of Bow Street Covent Garden in the County of Middlesex Portrait Painter intending shortly to depart to Bengal in the East Indies do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner following (that is to say as to such Worldly Estate and Effects with which it hath pleased God to bestow on me whether Real or personal I give devise and bequeath the same unto William Elmer of Hyde Street Bloomsbury in the County of Middlesex portrait painter Abel Bradley of Middle New Street Gough Symon London Gentleman and John Naish of Hyde Street aforsaid Herald painter (my Executors hereinafter mentioned) In Trust to permit and suffer my dear Wife Maria Jane Alefounder late Maria Jane Curd or Evans to have the Interest and produce therof for her own sole and seperate use for and during the term of her natural life and her Receipt alone and no other shall be a sufficient discharge to my said Executors (and Exors hereinafter mentioned) and after her decease I give devise and bequeath the same to my Brother George Alefounder of Wenham Hall in the County of Suffolk Farmer for and during the term of his natural life hopeing my said Brother will assist his Godson George Alefounder Son of the late John Alefounder Surgeon of the Navy during his life) and after the decease of my said Brother George Alefounder I give devise and bequeath the same to the said George Alefounder the Godson of my said Brother George Alefounder but if the said George Alefounder the Godson should die before he attains the age of twenty one years then I give the same to my said Brother George Alefounder his Heirs or assignes for ever And Lastly I nominate and appoint the said William Elmer Abel Bradley John Naish my worthy Friends and Trustees aforesaid Executors of this my last Will and Testament thereby revoking all former and Other Wills by me at any time heretofore made and declare this only to be my last Will and testament In Witness wherof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this eleventh day of January in the year of Our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and eighty five John Alefounder   SD Signed sealed published and declared by the above named Testator John Alefounder as and for his last will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our Names as Witnesses hereto Solomon Hudson junr William Hillary

This Will was proved at London the tenth day of October in the year of Our Lord One thousand seven hundred and ninety five before the worshipful Charles Coate doctor of Laws and Surrogate of the Right Honourable Sir William Wynne Knight doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oath of William Elmer one of the Executors named in the said Will to whom Administration was granted of all and Singular the Goods Chattes and Credits of the deceased having been first Sworn duly to administer Power reserved of making the like grant to Abel Bradley and John Naish the other Executors named in the said Will when they or either of them shall apply for the same.       Ex.
